Cost of TBHs

TBHs were created to be inexpensive. For the wood, you can use wood that was lying around, or from pallets(make sure they weren't treated with chemicals).



*Wood Cost- $60 (i used higher quality wood to have a longer lasting hive)

*3lb. Italian Package Bees from http://www.betterbee.com/ - $68

*Pure BeesWax from http://www.backyardhive.com/, to fill in the kerfs (i bought 2 1-oz. blocks) $4



$132 dollars... not alot. Around your area, the bees might be cheaper, and as said before, you can always use wood lying around your yard.

Langstroth hive prices can go up to $300 per hive!





This is not all I need, I am getting gloves and a veil. And that's about it!
