I found this blog post to be very helpful...http://wvbeekeeper.blogspot.com/2008/01/recipes-for-beekeepers.html. It gives you a long, informative list of what you can feed your bees, and how to make syrup, fondant, quick candy, pollen patties, grease patties and so on.
Also, this link tells you how to make sugar blocks...http://robo.bushkillfarms.com/beekeeping/emergency-feeding/. This would be useful for a screened bottom TBH, like mine. Regular sugar would obviously just fall through the screen. I could feed my bees in winter easily with this recipe too.
It smells like spring outside! But its VERY windy out side! Two of the plastic lawn chairs flipped over, and one broke a leg! Happy Spring!
Have a great day!
